Building on their curiosity of the world around them, we continue the learning journey with a mixture of 'learning through play' and more structured experience.
Our active learning environment encourages independence and the development of social skills. Our key topics are Superheroes, Toys, Space and Our Locality (we also compare Ashton to another place in the UK).
We follow the NC objectives for each subject area. As children across the country are assessed on the Y1 Phonics Screening Check, phonics is a primary focus for developing reading and writing.
