Year 2 is a very active and exciting year group. The children deepen their understanding of English and language through exciting stories such as Paddington, The Tear Thief and Peter Rabbit. They also get to learn more about the wider world around them through topics about the Polar regions and Africa, whilst delving into exciting history through the Great Fire of London and the race to reach the South Pole.
During Year 2 children must complete statutory end of Key Stage 1 assessments in Reading, Mathematics, Spelling and Grammar. It is our belief that these should be as stress-free as possible and we work diligently to ensure the children are not aware of the assessments and in many cases the children will not realise that they have taken them.
