Forest School will take place in a designated space within Skitters Woods. It will provide the children with
the opportunity to learn and develop in an outdoor environment, encouraging hands-on experiences,
resilience, and a love for the natural world. They will also support our science topic on Plants and
Seasons.
We are kindly asking for a weekly contribution of £15 for the half term (£3 per session) to help
towards the costs of the session and resources. The payment is available on ParentPay.
The children in year 4 have trialled the sessions this half term and have thoroughly enjoyed their visits to
the woods. The have been carving their own quills, lighting their own fires and cooking on the campfire.
What does your child need?
To ensure children are comfortable and safe, we ask that they come prepared with:
✓ Waterproof jacket and trousers or a puddle suit
✓ Wellies
✓ Long trousers or leggings
✓ Change of clothes (bottoms, socks, shoes, etc)
There will be opportunities to volunteer and accompany the children into the woods to help with the
activities. If you are available for one of the sessions, please see your class teacher.
